New Years Resolution

I think by now we all know how much I love to online shop and the only thing that beats the excitement of finding an amazing bargain, is waiting patiently at my door until that item arrives. More than once though I've found I'm not as in love with the piece as I previously thought I would be, yet most times I keep it anyways.

Those same items we once thought we needed in our lives tend to be the exact same pieces that end up hung in the middle of our closet where our fingers never reach them, and even then the thought of packaging them right up and sending them out the door once more never crosses our mind.

So do you love it? That's the real question here.

Last night I received a pink coat from ASOS that I had been waiting anxiously for and although it didn't initially WOW me I thought "you know, I think I could make it work." Yet it shouldn't be that way, these exact thought are the ones that lead me, and probably many of you, to a closet full of things we never wear.
So as far in as we are into the new year, I'm making myself another new years promise. I'm promising myself to go ahead and return those pieces I know I probably won't ever wear. Yes, even if it looked amazing on someone else and I think I might be able to make it work (although I know I probably won't) or even if it's an amazing bargain I don't think I'll ever find again. At the end of the day $100 in my bank account is much better than an unused pink coat hanging somewhere in my closet.

Anyways I thought I'd quickly share with you a few things I've just received, and have made up my mind about returning, with an explanation or two, and some tips as to why you should do the same.

Exhibit A - Wrong fit, wrong color

ASOS Oversized Cocoon Coat
Originally $166.67
Now $116.67

The pink coat I mentioned above is beautiful (kind of looks better online, but that's not the point!) anyways,it really is beautiful, yet the fit just isn't right. And although I know a smaller size would definitely fit much better than the one I currently have, just by looking at it's shape I know I still won't like it enough. The shoulders area of the coat is a little larger, and gives off this broader shoulder effect which I personally don't like. Plus, as nice as the pink shade actually is, I don't think it's the most flattering on my skin tone, which is something even a smaller size wouldn't fix!

Exhibit B - You're just not "feeling" it

Baublebar - Crystal Fray Drops $36

I think sometimes these pieces are the ones I have the most trouble returning! These are the pieces that are absolutely perfect, or at least they seem to be. It's good quality, it fits nicely, and it was a great price, yet at the end of the day you're just "not feeling it." And that's alright!
As you can see here, I have a pair of beautiful rhinestone statement earrings, which actually look as good in person as they do online. Yet when I try them on as nice as they look on my ears and as lightweight as they may be for what they are, they just don't fully convince me. Now these were a little over $30 with the new user 15% off code, which I was totally fine paying, but since I don't think I'm even sure I really want them I have decided to let them go.

A really long post about one simple new years resolution but I'm hoping it gets a few of you thinking. And I'd love to know if any of you have similar shopping resolutions, so go ahead and leave me a comment down below!

With Love, NS

Zara Masculine Studio Overcoat

I tried to resist this one, believe me I did! I've had my eye on it since before Christmas which was around the time Zara's holiday sale initially started. Anyways, I've been eying it for forever and it was $200 at the start of the sale and just recently went down to $170!

I actually thought I had convinced myself that this wasn't for me, that it was too structured and maybe a little too long and that I absolutely didn't need it but of course somehow I ended up convincing myself once more that I did. And now it's mine! I really couldn't be happier, I'm really excited for it to arrive since I did just recently order it.

I believe Zara only has smalls and mediums still in stock. I did go ahead and order a medium which I really hope fits well since I find their outerwear sizing to be all over the place. If you read my Black Friday Shopping post (here) you would know that I bought a double breasted white coat from them and although I usually tend to be a medium to large in outerwear, I found the large to be absolutely too big! Yet as I tried another one of their coats in a medium (since the white medium coat fit perfectly) I found that one to be way too snug. So fingers crossed that this medium light pink beauty of a coat works out!
